American comedian of Lebanese and Palestinian descent Sammy Obeid, born in Oakland, California, studied Business Administration and Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley and then turned down a job at Google to become a comedian. He is currently the host of the Netflix show “100 Humans” and has also appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and “America’s Got Talent,” as well as TBS’s “Conan.” He is best known for holding the world record for performing stand-up comedy for 1,001 consecutive nights, a feat that has been featured in both Time magazine and The New York Times.
