After the success of last year’s stand-up performance “Hougia or Death”, Sofia Moutidou returns to the Mikro Pallas Theater from October with her new performance entitled “But it’s them!” in texts that she co-authored with last year’s creative team of Kostas Toulakis and Ismini Villioti, creators of the Ancient Memes page.

“But it’s you!”

A phrase that we all felt somehow… as a nation, represented us. But who are we after all?

Every Wednesday, the types of Greeks take to the stage. Types we encounter at home, at work, in relationships, in groups, on the street and, of course, on the internet.

The performance “But it’s you!” captures the crookedness, the upside down and all the small and big oddities that make up Greek everyday life. Those behaviors that irritate us, surpass us, make us wonder and we recognize them with impressive ease in others.

And so, the well-known line can sound like an assertion, an accusation, an aphorism, a resignation, or simply the only logical reaction to what we see.

“But they are you!” A performance dedicated to the types of Greeks. We will laugh because we know them. We will laugh even more because we look like them.
